On the following Saturday, Liverpool won 4:0 against Norwich City at Anfield. John Wark gave Liverpool a half time lead. Three goals in the last ten minutes, from lan Rush, Kenny Dalglish, and lan Rush again gave Liverpool an emphatic victory. The result left Liverpool in 6th place in the First Division on 38 points after 24 matches.
