On the following Saturday Liverpool won 4:1 against Ipswich Town at Anfield. Dominik Szoboszlai gave Liverpool an early lead. Mohamed Salah doubled the advantage just after the half-hour mark. Cody Gakpo scored the third goal just before half-time and added his second goal midway through the second half. Jacob Greaves scored a consolation goal for the visitors in the last minute. The 60,420 attendance set a new league record for Liverpool.
