On the following Sunday Liverpool lost 4:3 after extra time to Manchester United at Old Trafford in the 6th round of the FA Cup. The match had a 3:30 PM kick-off time. Scott McTominay gave the home side an early lead. Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah just before half-time gave Liverpool a lead at the break. Substitute Antony equalised for United with three minutes of normal time remaining. Harvey Elliott, who had come on Liverpool in the second half, gave Liverpool the lead again in extra time. Marcus Rashford restored parity and, in the last minute, Amad Diallo - another substitute - scored the winner to send United into the semi-finals and a meeting with Coventry City. Diallo received a red card for taking his shirt off when celebrating his goal; he had already received a yellow card in the match.
