The following Sunday Liverpool lost 3:2 to Southampton at St Mary's Stadium. The match had a 1:30 PM kick-off time. Goals from Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge gave Liverpool a half time lead. Simon Mignolet saved a penalty from half time substitute Saido Mane early in the second half but Mane pulled one back for the home side soon afterwards. Two goals in the last ten minutes - from Graziano Pelle and a second from Mane - completed Southampton's come back. The result left Liverpool in 9th place in the Premier League table on 44 points after 29 matches.
