There was no programme issued for the match. The local newspaper Fanatik, dated the day of the match, was available at the stadium. It previewed the match with two pages of articles and also included a 12 page supplement dedicated to the match.

On the following Sunday, Liverpool won 2:1 against second placed Manchester City at Anfield. The match had a 12:00 PM kick-off time. Jordan Henderson opened the scoring for Liverpool in the first half. Edin Dzeko equalised for City before half time. Philippe Coutinho scored the winner in the second half. The result left Liverpool in 5th place in the Premier League table on 48 points after 27 matches - 2 points off 4th place. Liverpool were unbeaten in the league in 2015 and had taken 19 out of the previous 21 points. Liverpool finished the season in 6th position on 62 points; 25 points behind champions Chelsea. They lost 6:1 away to Stoke City on the last day of the season; their biggest defeat since April 1963. Liverpool's goal was scored by Steven Gerrard, playing his 710th and last match for the club. Liverpool reached the semi-finals of both the domestic cups, losing 2:1 on aggregate to Chelsea in the League Cup and 2:1 to Aston Villa at Wembley in the FA Cup.
