The following Sunday Liverpool won 5:0 against Swansea City at Anfield. Steven Gerrard gave Liverpool a half time lead with a penalty. Philippe Coutinho doubled the advantage just after half time with his first goal for the club. Jose Enrique and Luis Suarez added further goals before Daniel Sturridge completed the scoring, also from the penalty spot. The result left Liverpool in 7th position in the Premier League on 39 points after 27 matches.
