The following Saturday Liverpool won 3:2 against West Ham United at Upton Park. The match had a 5:30 PM kick-off time. Fernando Torres gave Liverpool the lead. Alessandro Diamanti equalised for West Ham. Dirk Kuyt put Liverpool back in the lead but Carlton Cole equalised again on half time. Torres scored the winner midway through the second half with his second goal of the match. The result left Liverpool in 3rd position in the Premier League on 12 points after 6 matches; 3 points behind leaders Chelsea who had a match in hand.
