The following Saturday Liverpool won 4:1 against league leaders Manchester United at Old Trafford. The match had a 12:45 PM kick-off time. Christino Ronaldo put United in front. Fernando Torres equalised soon after and Steven Gerrard put Liverpool in front just before half time with a penalty. Nemanja Vidic was sent off for the home team before Fabio Aurelio gave Liverpool a two goal lead. Substitute Andrea Dossena scored the fourth in the last minute. The result left Liverpool in 2nd position in the Premier League on 61 points after 29 matches; 4 points behind leaders Manchester United who had a match in hand.
