The following Saturday Liverpool lost 2:0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage. Collins John gave Fulham a half time lead. Luis Boa Morte wrapped up the points in the last minute on a day football supporters remembered "the Maestro" Johnny Haynes who had passed away during the week.
